
Care-A-Van - Mobile Health Services
The Bon Secours Care-A-Van is a free medical service that provides primary care to uninsured adults and children the Greater Richmond community. Click the link on the right to see where the care-a-van will be around town.
Services include routine evaluation and treatment of common acute illnesses including:
- Gastritis and heart burn
- Minor skin rashes
- Minor musculoskeletal pains
- Respiratory infections
- Urinary tract and bladder infections
- Headaches, ear aches, and pink eye
- Chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension
- All immunizations for school (19 vaccines)
- Pregnancy tests
The Care-A-Van also offers sports physicals, children's health insurance enrollment, and health education services. Medical conditions that are beyond the team's scope of care are referred to another care setting.
The Care-A-Van team is bilingual (Spanish/English) and composed of physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, patient care technicians, licensed practical nurses, drivers, registrars, trained medical interpreters, registered dieticians and outreach workers. Community partners, including free clinics, local health agencies, and numerous faith-based community organizations, collaborate with us.
