Patients and their families need to be able to read and understand health information before they can act on it. This is called “health literacy.” But research shows that many people struggle with health literacy. By attending this presentation, participants should have the knowledge and skills to start making a health literacy difference.
Helen Osborne, M.Ed., OTR/L helps organizations communicate health information in ways that patients and their families can understand. Helen brings clinical experience, education, and patient perspective to all her work. Helen's award-winning book, Health Literacy from A to Z: Practical Ways to Communicate Your Health Message is considered by many as the most important health literacy reference today.
