Dr. Dodd attended the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, for his undergraduate degree. He received his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia. Dr. Dodd was in family practice for 13 years before joining Bon Secours Medical Group. He is board certified in family practice.
Dr. Joseph is dually trained in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Prior to becoming a physician, she was a registered nurse for 11 years having completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Pacific Union College located in Angwin, California. She received her medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School. During this time, she attended the Hammersmith Royal Post Graduate Medical School in London, England, where she completed courses in adult and pediatric cardiology. She completed her internship and residency at Harvard University Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Program in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Joseph is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and board eligible in Internal Medicine. Prior to joining Bon Secours Medical Group, Dr. Joseph worked at Harvard University Health Services as a Med-Peds physician for several years until moving to Virginia in 2007. She is committed to the care of both children and adults of all ages.
Dr. Cress received her medical degree from the University of Toronto and completed her Family Medicine residency at The Toronto Hospital. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Prior to joining Bon Secours Medical Group, Dr. Cress worked in private practice in Richmond, Virginia.
Shelly Smith, DNP, APRN, BC graduated with honors from the University of Virginia School of Nursing program in 1999. She was awarded a scholarship to attend Virginia Commonwealth University master’s program. In addition, Shelly has completed the doctoral program from the University of Virginia. Her research focused on innovative care delivery with a focus on shared medical appointments.
She is a member of the International Nursing Honor Society Sigma Theta Tau and was inducted into the Raven Society at the University of Virginia. Shelly is a member of the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners, the American Nurses Association, and the Virginia Nurses Association, and she is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in the specialty of Adult Primary Care. She is married with 2 children and lives in Powhatan.
