healing ministry of Jesus
Christ and the Catholic

Good Help To Those In Need
The mission of Bon Secours gains strength through contributions from people of different backgrounds.

The Office of Cultural Diversity provides the following services:

Cultural Diversity Steering Committee: Comprised of employees representing the diversity of Bon Secours, this committee meets monthly to promote initiatives and efforts which support cultural diversity and competence throughout Bon Secours.

Cultural Transition Support Groups: Provide support to persons experiencing cultural transition. Groups meet Tuesdays/Thursdays at selected Care-A-Van sites and are conducted by bilingual staff in the language appropriate to the needs of the group. Contact Ana Buckman at (804) 545-1938.

Language Services: Addresses communication needs of Limited English Proficiency (LEP) and Hearing Impaired patients through:

  • Dual Role Bi-lingual Trained Interpreters
  • Telephone Interpreter Services available 24/7 in over 150 languages
  • Classes including ESOL, Spanish for HealthCare Providers, and other offerings
  • Sign Language Professionals
  • Medical Document Translation Services
