Bon Secours Opens Primary Care Practice in Urbanna
Urbanna Medical Center is health system’s newest community care center
Jan. 17, 2014 – Bon Secours Medical Group has opened its latest full-service doctor’s office to provide community care in Urbanna, Va. The Urbanna Medical Center will provide area residents family and preventive medicine services.
The Urbanna Medical Center is located at 390 Virginia Street, Suite A, Urbanna, Va. 23175.
“I look forward to getting more involved in the Urbanna community and providing them with local, dedicated care,” said Glen Monteiro, M.D., M.P.H., Bon Secours Medical Group. “This is a great opportunity to offer residents high quality health care through the Bon Secours network close to where they live.”
Dr. Monteiro and his staff offer primary care services, including annual physicals, treatment and prevention of diseases, senior care, women’s services, minor surgical services, well-child care and immunizations, as well as sports and back-to-school physicals.
Urbanna Medical Center patients will also have access to mychart, a free, personalized online resource to view portions of their medical records. Through mychart, patients can also send a message to their doctor, request an appointment, view lab results or request prescription refills.
Dr. Monteiro received his medical degree from Government Medical College, Shivaji University in India and completed his family medicine residency from the Chesterfield Family Practice Residency Program. He most recently completed a Preventive Medicine Residency program as well as received his Master of Public Health from the New Jersey Medical School, Rutgers University in Newark, N.J.
