Pediatric Family Advisory Council
The Children’s Services Family Advisory Council is dedicated to promoting patient and family centered care within our pediatric service lines. As healthcare providers, we recognize the vital role that families play in ensuring the health and well-being of infants, children, adolescents and family members of all ages. Our pediatric Family Advisory Council promotes the core concepts of family centered care: respect and dignity, information sharing, participation and collaboration. When you become a member of the Children’s Services Family Advisory Council, you will be working with the health care team of St. Mary’s to improve the quality of care provided to patients and their families in both pediatric inpatient and outpatient settings.
Council members will be in close communication with St. Mary’s leadership to recommend improvements to allow us to better serve the children in our community.
Members will serve a two-year term, with the option of serving two consecutive terms. This allows you to make a positive impact and see the difference you make.
As a member of the Family Advisory Council your commitment will require:
- dedication to quality health care at St. Mary’s Hospital
- ability to support family-centered care values
- desire to be part of a decision-making process and to support council decisions
- time to contribute to the group, either by attending meetings and/or by providing input on projects
- respect for confidentiality
- experience with St. Mary’s Hospital pediatric service lines in either inpatient or outpatient setting
