Thank you to those who joined us on Monday, January 7, for our first Quarterly Community Forum of 2019. I appreciate you taking time out of your evening to be us. The Community Forum is an opportunity for Bon Secours to provide updates on the work we are doing in the community, share information and updates from partners and our chance to hear your voice.
Here is a brief recap of the topics discussed: for the 5th time in 6 years, Bon Secours Baltimore was named a Top Workplace by the Baltimore Sun (Nov. 2018), U.S. Senator, Chris Van Hollen invited a group of west Baltimore school children to spend the day in DC- Bon Secours and Future Baltimore team members escorted the group (Nov. 2018), Congressman Elijah Cummings hosted a press conference at Bon Secours Community Works to encourage enrollment in the ACA (Oct. 2018), announcement: Friday Jan. 11, Health Care Job Fair is taking place at AFSCME Union Hall 10am-1pm, Bon Secours’ annual Christmas for Community Outreach 2018 served over 200 west Baltimore neighbors (Dec. 2018), Bon Secours Baltimore is planning a celebration for its 100th birthday on January 25, 2019, a candidate has been hired to lead Work Force Development (Jan. 2019), a Mobile Marketing Coordinator has also been hired to lead the mobile market and build partnerships with churches and neighborhood groups (Jan. 2019), CNA/GNA trainings set for Jan. 9 and Jan. 16 --25 slots are available for west Baltimore residents (Jan. 2019) , Bon Secours is close to reaching its fundraising goal for the upcoming Community Resource Center-construction scheduled to begin Summer 2019, Housing and Community Development Department is planning to transform a vacant lot @ 2 N. Fulton Avenue into a splash park (TBA).
