Festival of Fitness Aug. 2

Healthy Choices, Healthy Communities, of which OLBH is a member, will host its fourth Festival of Fitness on Friday, Aug. 2 beginning at 5 p.m. in downtown Ashland. The Festival of Fitness takes place in conjunction with the City of Ashland’s First Friday event.

Festival of Fitness will feature fitness activities and educational opportunities free to area residents. Activities will be geared to all fitness levels, so that beginners and more advanced individuals can participate.

Healthy Choices, Healthy Communities representative Joseph Mazzawi said the event will continue the tradition of providing an opportunity for area residents to learn of and begin healthier habits. “As a health coalition, we feel it’s important to have a variety of activities attendees can participate in as well as demonstrations and information that can lead to healthier living by knowing what support and resources are available in our community,” Mazzawi said. Mazzawi noted short fitness classes, youth dance and fusion demonstrations are just a few of the activities planned. “It’ll be a fun and educational evening outside.”

Healthy Choices, Healthy Communities is comprised of members throughout the Tri-State region. The mission statement of the organization is “To improve the health of our communities through collaboration, education, prevention and access to healthy choices.”
