Representatives of iHeartMedia delivered a $1,500 donation to the OLBH Foundation to help cover the cost of services for uninsured or underinsured women who have their services done at the OLBH Women’s Center.
The donation was a portion of the amount raised by iHeartMedia from its pink duck sale. The sale of the rubber ducks, bearing the color pink in recognition of breast cancer awareness, has become an annual fundraiser for iHeartMedia and an avenue for the company to give back to the community.
“iHeartMedia has shown a commitment to area women and we appreciate both them and all those who supported the pink duck campaign,” Luann Serey, director of the OLBH Foundation and Community Services, said. “Screening mammograms are the best prevention against breast cancer and this donation will allow for those mammograms to be had by women who otherwise may have gone without this potentially life-saving test.”
The OLBH Women’s Center, located on the ground floor of Bellefonte Centre (1000 Ashland Drive), combines breast health services in one location, eliminating the necessity for multiple appointments and prolonged waiting for women. The OLBH Women’s Center offers both 2-D and 3-D mammography with same-day results, breast ultrasound, whole breast ultrasound for those with dense breast tissue, minimally invasive breast biopsy, a DEXA densitometer to screen for bone density, genetic testing, clinical breast exams, a women’s health library, the OLBH Women’s Center Boutique and a breast health navigator to guide patients and families through the process.
