Preferences and Priorities

In making our decisions, we rely on the following preferences and priorities. Your proposal will be evaluated in the context of these preferences and priorities. We are firmly committed to them.

  1. We have a preference for partnering with organizations that are aligned philosophically and operationally with the 2016-2018 Strategic Quality Plan of the Bon Secours Health System.
    To promote alignment with the ministry and philosophy of Bon Secours

  2. We have a preference for partnering with organizations that are local and provide direct services to the community. 
    To promote service in the local community and partnerships with locally based service providers 
  3. We have a preference for partnering with organizations that seek to eliminate population-based inequities and disparities.
    To promote social justice, in particular for materially poor and socially marginalized persons and groups within the community
  4. We have a preference for partnering with organizations that can provide actionable data on the public health needs of the community.
    To promote a shared understanding and agreement on the social determinants of health
  5. We have a preference for partnering with organizations that utilize evidence-based, best practices to drive change.
    To promote scientific credibility, a commitment to public health principles and practices and the root-cause change to social inequities 
  6. We have a preference for partnering with organizations that understand the need for a clearly articulated and meaningful “exchange relationship” with Bon Secours Richmond Health System
    To promote mutuality and interdependence   
  7. We have a preference for partnering with organizations that give priority to the partnership first, not solely the resources necessary to carry out the partnership.
