Dr. Jed S. Vanichkachorn specializes in treatment of neck and back problems with adult patients. He is also a member of the Spine Team at Tuckahoe Orthopaedics. He earned his medical degree from Medical College of Virginia. He received his orthopaedic training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. He then went on to complete a Spine Reconstruction Fellowship at the Spine and Scoliosis Center in Baltimore, Md.
Dr. Vanichkachorn’s patients benefit from conservative treatments and minimally invasive surgical procedures. If more complex surgery is required, he is skilled and experienced in the most up-to-date surgical techniques. He currently performs approximately 400 spinal surgeries a year, with 35 to 40 percent of these being minimally invasive procedures. Some of the more common procedures include spinal fusions, cervical and lumbar disc replacements, and kyphoplasty.
Dr. Vanichkachorn serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at Medical College of Virginia. He is an active member of many professional societies, including the North American Spine Society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Virginia Orthopaedic Society.
Dr. Vanichkachorn’s father is a retired orthopaedic surgeon. Initially, Dr. Vanichkachorn worked in his father’s practice after completing his fellowship training. He made the decision to join Tuckahoe Orthopaedics several years later so he could devote his practice entirely to the treatment of spinal conditions. Dr. Vanichkachorn is very physically active and has now completed ten Ironman Triathlons. He recently received his MBA degree from the College of William & Mary. He is married to Dr. Ann Vanichkachorn. She is an OB/GYN physician who is currently taking time off to raise their two sons.
