Dr. Santosh has been practicing in the Richmond area since 2002. He was in private practice in New Mexico where he was Chief Of Surgery, before he relocated to Virginia. He has had extensive training and experience in India, the United Kingdom and here in the United States.
Dr. Santosh is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and of the International College of Surgeons. He is also an active member of the Society of Gastro-Endoscopic Surgeons, the Society of Laparo-Endoscopic Surgeons and the Society of Robotic Surgery. He has been Chief of Surgery of Chippenham Campus for the last five years. He has been mentioned in the Richmond Top Docs list consistently.
He has extensive experience in general, laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He was one of the earliest general surgeons in Richmond to train on the robotic platform and has the largest experience in robotic general surgical procedures. His main focus on the robotic platform has been on gallbladder, colo-rectal and hernia surgery. In addition, he has wide experience in single-site surgery for intra-abdominal procedures. He has also trained and proctored other general surgeons both in Richmond as well as from neighboring hospitals.
