Building a brighter tomorrow for a brighter future

A healthy community encompasses where we live, learn, work, and play. Bon Secours seeks to partner with the community to influence social and environmental factors impacting health through engagement and strengthening partnerships by promoting physical, social, mental and spiritual well-being for all.

It is our vision to be:

  • A gathering place for hope and hospitality
  • A transforming place for health and wellness
  • A welcoming place for authentic inclusion and social association
  • A learning place for personal growth and development
  • A partner in community development

We bring that vision to life by offering the following programs to the communities we serve:

Front Porch Café
The Front Porch Café's mission is to equip young people from Richmond's East End with valuable job skills and work experience. We take pride in serving quality breakfast, lunch, and coffee that creates a friendly front porch culture for the entire community.

The Front Porch Café is owned and operated by Church Hill Activities and Tutoring (CHAT), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to serve the youth of Richmond's East End and equip them with heart, head, and hands to make transformative life decisions. The Front Porch Café is made possible by a partnership with Bon Secours Sarah Garland Jones Center and the Robins Foundation.

Parsley’s Kitchen
Parsley’s Kitchen is a hands-on and creative learning environment inspiring community members and neighbors to taste and cook healthful dishes. This commercial kitchen is outfitted with state of the art cooking equipment and a demonstration area to accommodate classes. We offer programs to learn general cooking skills focused on chronic disease prevention and management. The kitchen serves as the headquarters of the Bon Secours Community Nutrition Outreach program, which includes Class-A-Roll.

Changing our perspective

This center provides a space for the community to collaborate in addressing health differences and social barriers. Bon Secours looks forward to joining with our neighbors in promoting healing and overall well-being to improve social and environmental factors impacting the health of the overall community.

Book the Community Room
The Community Room is a 900 square foot, state-of-the-art, interactive room for meetings, events or training programs that’s reservable to the general public. This area is the site of a variety of community-focused programs that promote healthy living and social interaction, wellness, workforce development, training and education.
