The Bon Secours Advanced Cardiac Valve Center and the University of Virginia Health System have partnered to bring access to the latest cardiac valve therapies and advanced treatment options to communities throughout Virginia. This one-of-a-kind partnership, between two health systems nationally recognized for providing quality cardiovascular care, is transforming cardiac care in the region.
Cardiac hybrid operating room
Many high-risk patients are now candidates for valve treatment because of the new opportunities and technology available in our Cardiac Hybrid Operating Room. The hybrid OR merges the latest surgical techniques with advanced imaging, making it possible to perform both interventional (catheter-based) and surgical procedures in one room. Such advanced equipment allows our surgeons to see the surgical area in fine detail and in real time so they can evaluate, intervene and assess the results of a procedure, leading to more accurate and better outcomes.
