Wrap Around Family Service Program

Funding is provided to the Pinellas Opportunity Council to assist parents with skills and strategies to exit poverty. Parents are helped to develop step-by-step case plans, enrolled in career and skills training programs and internships, and supported with life needs such as help with tuition, transportation, childcare, and emergency assistance. Parents meet monthly with program staff to discuss progress, and are honored for their hard work during a graduation ceremony.  The program supports the City of St Petersburg’s goal of decreasing poverty by 30% by 2020.

200 in 2015 Campaign - Mt. Zion Human Services, Inc.

The program is designed to increase the number of young people participating in employment programs with the goal of adding 200 additional youth to the program. Youth receive career and life skills training to help them effectively communicate with supervisors and peers, and maintain high work standards such as punctuality and professionalism. Youth are placed in short-term jobs and internships and receive support throughout their employment. Assistance is also given for the purchase of work clothes and transportation.
