Bon Secours St. Francis Health System plans to expand its AFC Urgent Care Bon Secours sites to include a new location at 2709 Pelham Road on Friday, November 22, 2019. This center will join six existing Greenville County centers located as follows: Augusta Road, Pleasantburg Road in Cherrydale, Grandview Drive in Simpsonville, West Wade Hampton Blvd. in Greer, Wade Hampton Blvd. in the Taylors area, and Woodruff Road.
The center will care for patients from age two and up, providing urgent care, employer health services, and basic wellness services. Urgent care treatment is available for everyday illness and injury, including treatment for everything from allergic reactions to fall and winter ailments such as colds, flu and upper respiratory infections – as well as more advanced services including X-Rays, Lab testing, stitches and treatment for broken bones, sprains and strains. It’s a great alternative to an emergency room, with typically lower copays, too.
“Convenient access to care is paramount for today’s population. Bon Secours is excited to be opening this center on Greenville’s Eastside,” said Ann Allen, Chief Operating Officer of the Bon Secours Medical Group. “Bringing an urgent care location to this area will enable Bon Secours and AFC to offer patients enhance access to care and improved quality of care, at a reduced cost.”
The model of care in the new 3,300 square foot facility will be focused on the patient. The center features seven patient rooms and on-site X-Ray. Not only does this center allow patients to walk in at their convenience to receive care, but patients can also use our online portal to save a place in line prior to arrival.
Local employers can use AFC Urgent Care Bon Secours – Pelham Road for employer health services that include workers’ compensation, injury care, pre- and ongoing employment screenings, DOT physicals and regulatory exams. Sports physicals and immunizations are also provided.
The center will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, with no appointment needed. Saturday and Sunday hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
“Our centers are open on all major holidays in order to provide our community with access to compassionate, quality healthcare,” noted Allen.
As a part of the Bon Secours, which is part of Bon Secours Mercy Health, all AFC Urgent Care Bon Secours centers accept most major insurance plans and offer affordable pricing options for patients without insurance. The centers are staffed by licensed medical professionals including physicians, advanced care practitioners, medical assistants and radiologic technologists. The center can help refer patients in need of a Primary Care Provider or Specialty Care within the broader health care system.
