Save the date for the 2023 Bourbon for Boobs event, a night of food, music, and bourbon tastings – all in the name of a good cause.

Tickets are now on sale for the 4th annual fundraiser, which will take place Thursday, October 26th from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Foundry at Judson Mill. Society Sandwich Bar and Social Club, Makers Mark, and Trey Francis and his band will be donating their services for the event, which will also include a silent and live auction with involvement from Upstate retailers, restaurants, and businesses.

“I am so humbled by the generosity of the Upstate community and am beyond honored to host this event again. I have tremendous faith we will meet and hopefully exceed our goals to benefit those in our community who need our help the most. I also know without a doubt my mother would love to know her legacy is being used for good,” said event organizer Melissa Morrell.

Morrell started Bourbon for Boobs in honor of her mother, Sammie Sweeney-Ferrigan, who fought stage 4 breast cancer for six years before succumbing to the illness. Last year’s event raised around $85,000 to help others facing a similar battle. This year, they want to help even more with a fundraising goal is $106,000. All the proceeds will once again benefit the Pearlie Harris Center for Breast Health, where the money will be used to help underserved women access the screening and diagnostic mammograms, ultrasounds, and breast MRIs they need.

“Unfortunately, breast cancer touches everyone. If you haven’t been affected, chances are you know someone who has been,” said Erik Whaley, president of the St. Francis Foundation. “This event will allow us to honor the lives already claimed by this terrible disease while supporting those who have survived or are still fighting in a very real way. The funds raised will ensure we can provide the best care possible to those who need it the most.”

The Pearlie Harris Center for Breast Health is in Suite 220 of Building 131 on the Bon Secours St. Francis Eastside campus. It brings the most advanced breast imaging technology available together in one place with an expert staff that offers compassionate, convenient care and rapid results.

In addition to the exams offered at the Pearlie Harris Center for Breast Health, the Bon Secours St. Francis mobile mammography coach offers screening mammograms throughout the community. The mobile increases access to care by removing transportation barriers for women in Greenville, Anderson, Pickens, and Oconee Counties. It’s on the road 5-6 days a week, offering the latest 3D tomosynthesis technology.
