Bon Secours will now operate 18 urgent care facilities in Upstate South Carolina
Bon Secours is expanding its network of urgent care centers in Upstate South Carolina through their affiliation with American Family Care (AFC). In an acquisition that will bolster its eight existing AFC locations, Bon Secours has acquired ten additional AFC facilities previously owned by Upstate Healthcare Holdings, LLC (UHH) and Groves Enterprises, Inc., which includes seven existing facilities and three locations that are in development. The new ownership structure will take effect on March 1, 2023.
“This partnership supports our health system’s goal of expanding and scaling our urgent care offerings to provide more access to same-day care, filling current gaps and making health care easier for patients in Upstate,” said Matt Caldwell, president of the Bon Secours Greenville market. “Our vision is to deliver welcoming, exceptional care that is personalized, quick and convenient.” If specialty care is needed following a patient’s visit, the AFC-Bon Secours medical team will coordinate that for the patient. And, if more critical care is needed AFC-Bon Secours providers will connect patients and their loved ones to nearby hospitals.
Upstate Healthcare Holdings, LLC, represented by Managing Member Tim Groves, has rapidly expanded AFC’s presence in the Upstate over the last five years. Groves is thrilled that AFC patients will now have immediate access to Bon Secours entire health care system if more care is needed. “This expansion will build upon AFC’s commitment to quality patient care and services, while also offering our employees expanded career opportunities within the Bon Secours health care network.” Groves explains.
The AFC clinics owned by Bon Secours are all designed for patients who need convenient retail sites with free, easy parking, walk-in appointments, and the added connection to a health system if more care is needed. “The partnerships with Upstate Healthcare Holdings, LLC and Bon Secours over the last decade have elevated access to health care for Upstate families. AFC celebrated its 40th year of providing affordable health care to patients of all ages and we look forward to continuing our relationship with Bon Secours” says Jason Badyrka, chief operating officer of American Family Care.
