February is American Heart Month, a time to focus on cardiovascular health, so Bon Secours is announcing details for our annual Heart Health Awareness Celebration.
The 2024 event will take place on Friday, February 23rd from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Senior Action Center, 3715 East North Street, Suite K in Greenville. During that time, anyone who is interested in learning more about their heart health can interact with health professionals and specialists to check their heart rate, blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), and take part in a screening to determine their lung age. There will also be interactive education on topics related to heart health such as sleep, diet, diabetes, physical activity and more.
“Cardiovascular disease, which includes heart disease and stroke, is the number one killer of both men and women. However, many people are still unaware of the symptoms and vital information associated with the disease,” said Robbie Keefer, Cardiac Rehab Nurse at Bon Secours. “We’re hoping this event will help educate and increase awareness to improve the health of our community.”
The upcoming heart health celebration is free and open to the public. No pre-registration is required. For more information about the event, call 864-400-3651.
