Bon Secours St. Francis Health System is preparing to break ground on its newest care site in Five Forks. 2814 Woodruff Road will be home to the health system’s second freestanding emergency department.
“Greenville County continues to grow by leaps and bounds each day, increasing the demand for emergency services. It’s up to us to meet that need by growing alongside our community,” explained Matt Caldwell, president of Bon Secours St. Francis Health System. “In healthcare, we know time can make all the difference in an emergency situation so this new facility will hopefully give those living in the area who need emergency care an added peace of mind. This is just the latest step in our overall strategy to ensure community members are able to get the care they need when and where it’s most convenient.”
This $23 million project is part of Bon Secours’s latest efforts to expand its health care offerings throughout Greenville County. It comes just two years after the health system opened the county’s first freestanding emergency department in Simpsonville. Bon Secours also opened a new medical center in Fountain Inn earlier this year.
“Our mission drives us to provide the highest quality care possible to our patients and communities. By creating these additional access points, we bring that care closer to those who need it most, continuing the Bon Secours legacy of being good help to those in need, especially the poor, dying, and underserved,” said Caldwell.
This new 12,500 square foot facility will feature 9 exam rooms including one specifically for trauma care, as well as CT and X-ray imaging. Once open, the new freestanding emergency department will give patients 24-hour access to state-of-the-art technology and board-certified emergency medicine staff trained to deliver high-quality, immediate care for a range of emergency medical needs.
“We can diagnose and treat the same types of emergencies and illnesses that are seen in our hospital-based ERs, with the same goal of seeing and treating patients as quickly as possible,” said Caldwell.
Construction is expected to be complete by Spring 2026. For more information about Bon Secours services, locations, and happenings, visit bonsecours.com.
