Bon Secours has named Scott Opperman as vice president of mission for the Bon Secours Hampton Roads market, effective June 20. In this role, Opperman will lead the integration of the health care ministry’s Mission and values into the market’s culture and all strategies, operations and decisions.

Opperman comes to the ministry from Trinity Health in Michigan where he served in a variety of leadership and mission integration roles. In addition to serving as a member of the senior leadership team for Trinity Health Saint Mary’s, Opperman also provided presence and contributions on the leadership team of Trinity Health Medical Group – West Michigan. Beyond his health care mission leadership, Opperman has more than a decade of experience in higher education.

Opperman earned his bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio, and holds master’s degrees in theological studies from the University of Notre Dame and religious education from Loyola University in Chicago. He also pursued doctoral studies in philosophical and systematic theology at Durham University in England.
