Bon Secours Hampton Roads today announced the appointment of Dr. Vishwas Patel as Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) for the market, effective immediately. In this role, Dr. Patel will oversee clinical operations, quality of patient care, clinical staff management, and the development and implementation of clinical protocols across the market.
A veteran healthcare leader with 17 years of service at Bon Secours, Dr. Patel brings extensive clinical and administrative experience to his new position. He currently serves as medical director of the organization's palliative care and hospice programs, and chairs the Credentialing Committee at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center.

Dr. Patel joined Bon Secours in 2008 as a hospitalist and has held several leadership positions, including medical director of the hospitalist program at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth. He is also a member of the GoodHelp Affordable Care Organization (ACO).
Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Patel completed his residency at the University of Illinois after earning his medical degree from Baroda Medical College in India. He recently completed Bon Secours Mercy Health's Leadership in Practice Program.
