Bon Secours Names Faraaz Yousuf President of its Richmond Market

Bon Secours, part of Bon Secours Mercy Health, has named Faraaz Yousuf as the Richmond market president, effective December 1, 2019. Yousuf will report to Brian White, Bon Secours Mercy Health Atlantic Group president.

“Faraaz is an integrative and dynamic leader with strong interpersonal skills that will drive business and community outcomes while ensuring the patient is at the center of every decision,” said White. “He has the benefit of building upon a firm foundation of excellence in Richmond and the market’s strong commitment to the health and well-being of our patients and the Richmond community.”

Yousuf joined Bon Secours Mercy Health in July as chief strategy officer of the Atlantic Group, responsible for all strategic planning across a five-state geography, including Virginia, South Carolina, Florida, New York and Maryland. As market president, Yousuf will oversee all Richmond market operations, helping to advance a culture of innovation and excellence, while bringing best practices for efficiency and effective care delivery across the market.

“I am honored to join the Richmond team and work with our physicians, community partners and associates to serve the distinct needs of our patients across Richmond,” said Yousuf. “I see this new role as an opportunity to make a significant impact on the communities we serve.”

Prior to joining the ministry, Yousuf spent more than 15 years in health care operations and leadership roles, most recently serving president and senior vice president of LifeBridge Health, a $1.8b Maryland-based health system. In this capacity, Faraaz was responsible for the system’s county-based hospital as well as enterprise-wide quality, real estate and construction, and population health and data analytics.

Prior to LifeBridge, Faraaz held chief operating officer roles with Sutter Health and Hospital Corporation of America.

As he steps into this new role, Yousuf will work closely with the board, physician and market leadership to ensure a smooth transition. Yousuf holds a Master of Healthcare Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University.
