Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Program

The Bon Secours-sponsored Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Program helps high school-age youth find after-school and summer jobs and mentors them for future careers. It also provides access to job readiness, leadership development, career planning, and job acquisition training. The program is part of our Community Works initiative and is intended to help break the cycle of low high school graduation rates and poor employment histories.

A 12-week job readiness training initiative prepares youth for summer employment, with area businesses providing full- and part-time positions, internships, and shadowing opportunities. Program alumni volunteer as mentors. During the year, students and parents complete community service projects and participate in recreational and cultural activities.
