Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

MRI, or Magnetic Resonance Imaging, uses strong magnetic and radio frequency waves to obtain detailed images of organs, soft tissues, muscles, nerves, and bones. Our GE Excite 1.5 Tesla magnet has high definition software producing the best images possible for you and your physician.  This examination is non-invasive, however, your physician may request an examination with contrast which would require an injection.

mriSome important information about your MRI:

  • Your exam can last between 30 and 60 minutes. Before you can enter the MRI suite, the technologist will complete a screening form to make sure you do not have any metal on you. After the screening is complete, the technologist will position you on the MRI table and then move you into the magnet. You will hear a knocking sound while the images are being obtained.
  • Our skilled staff are certified technologists by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, ARRT.
  • Your images will be read by board certified Radiologists who specialize in diagnosing diseases and injuries through medical imaging.
  • A doctor’s order is required for all MRI’s.
