I enjoy Family Medicine because I like being able to educate patients about their health and the causes of their disease. I like the continuity of care and building of long-term relationships. The provider/patient partnership is about respecting patient freedom, communication, and shared decision making. In spare time I like to travel and experience new cultures and spend time in nature with family and friends.

| June 2024 Dr. Escanio is terrific, she listens to my concerns without judgement or dismissiveness. She is very thoughtful about how she prescribes treatment and very clearly explains why she came to those conclusions. She is very open to feedback about those treatment options and is willing to make adjustments. An example of this is she had questions about one of my medications that was prescribed to be taken 3 times a day but I mentioned that it was difficult to remember to take that third pill because all of my other prescriptions are 2 a day at most. She prescribed a longer lasting once a day version of the same medicine. In the next visit, I explained that the new prescription wasn't as effective and asked to go back to the previous one at a 2 per day dosage and it seems to work best this way. All of that was easy and at no point was I made to feel bad for any of my concerns, an experience I have had with my previous doctor. |
