Dr. David J. Muron is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with interests in performing Total Joint Replacements, Orthopedic Trauma and General Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Muron was born in Pittsburgh, PA and grew up in Wise County in Southwest Virginia. Dr. Muron earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy/Pharmacology at the Medical College of Virginia (MCV), in Richmond.

He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) and completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency as Chief Administrative Resident in 1992. Dr. Muron completed an Executive MBA in Healthcare at The College of William and Mary. Prior to joining Bon Secours, Dr. Muron was in practice with West End Orthopedic Clinic (now OrthoVirginia), Riverside Gloucester Center for Orthopedic Surgery, and Wythe Physician Practices and served on the MCV/VCU and McGuire VA Hospital faculty. Dr. Muron also previously served as Assistant Professor and Attending Orthopedic Surgeon at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, El Paso, TX, and as the Chief of Surgery, Division of Surgical Specialties, TTUHSC, The Hospitals of Providence-Transmountain Campus, El Paso, TX. Dr. Muron has served in numerous administrative capacities and committees as an academic faculty member, executive committee member, a past president of the medical staff and is currently a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, AO International, and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.

Dr. Muron specializes in partial and total joint replacements, including shoulder, hip, knee, ankle, and toe replacements. Dr. Muron has a certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support and has extensive experience in treating complex orthopedic trauma and fractures. In addition, Dr. Muron also has an interest in General Orthopedic Surgery that includes upper and lower extremity orthopedic conditions.

Dr. Muron lives in Chesterfield with his wife, Tina, his Brittany dog, Raider and Yellow Lab, Sabre. His interests include spending time with his wife, his family, and his dogs, competitive USTA tennis as a ranked tennis player, reading, researching topics in 18th century history and Thomas Jefferson, oenology and viticulture, wine collecting, music of all types, sports…especially UVA, and traveling. He is a past member of the Rosewell Foundation Board in Gloucester County and a current member of the Colonnade Club at the University of Virginia.
