Meet Dr. Hale
Growing up as an athlete, I have experienced several orthopedic injuries. After deciding on a career in medicine, orthopedic surgery became the natural choice. My wife and I moved to Richmond for our residencies at VCU. During my Pediatric Orthopedics fellowship in Orlando, we decided to return to Richmond. I treat all pediatric musculoskeletal conditions including trauma, scoliosis, sports injuries, hip conditions, and congenital deformities.

He is trained to treat any orthopaedic condition involving children and is especially interested in complex hip deformities, scoliosis, congenital deformities, and pediatric orthopaedic trauma. Many of his

He participates in orthopaedic research. He has published papers and co-wrote a book chapter addressing Pediatric Orthopaedic trauma of the pelvis, hip, femur, and knee. His research has addressed reducing blood loss during complex hip procedures and reducing the risk of infection in scoliosis surgery in children. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Virginia Orthopaedic Society, and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
Dr. Hale has been involved with the World Pediatric Project performing scoliosis surgery. The World Pediatric Project is an organization that offers critical care services to children in the Caribbean and Central America.
Dr. Hale grew up in Morristown, New Jersey. He is a graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Pre Medicine and a minor in Psychology. He enjoys spending time with his wife Luanne, who is a pediatrician in the Richmond area and their two sons.
He and his family enjoy traveling, especially to Disney World, where he and Luanne got married. He is a devoted sports fan with a special interest in basketball, football, and European soccer leagues. In his previous life, he was an all-state soccer player and still enjoys exercising and playing sports recreationally.

June 2024 Doctor was thorough and explained everything. |

June 2024 Dr Hale listened to our concerns and did not jump right to casting our infant's feet to correct his clubbed feet. He looked at our baby holistically and did not rush to any unnecessary actions. Dr Hale developed a plan with our parental input and one that would best meet our baby's needs. |

May 2024 Dr. Hale was great at explaining the issue. He was good at interacting with my 3 year old and she seemed very comfortable. After the appointment, she said (without prompting) that she really liked him. |
