Meet Dr. Dobzyniak

As a fellowship trained Orthopedic surgeon, I treat adult patients with degenerative diseases of the hip and knee. I have a special interest in rapid recovery after hip and knee replacements utilizing minimally invasive and robotically- assisted surgeries. My goal is to provide a continuum of care starting with non-operative treatments progressing to hip and knee replacements allowing patients to maintain their quality of life.

Dr. Matthew A. Dobzyniak has been a member of the Joint Replacement Team at Tuckahoe Orthopaedics since 2004, prior to that he practiced in Michigan. Earning his medical degree from University of Michigan and completing his internship and residency at William Beaumont Hospital, he was awarded a fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery specializing in Hip and Knee at Charlotte Orthopaedic Specialists & Ortho Carolina. He is an active member of many professional societies including American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, Virginia Orthopaedic Society, and the Richmond Academy of Medicine.

Dr. Dobzyniak and his medical staff are dedicated in providing the highest quality of medical care. He primarily treats adult patients with hip and knee issues resulting from arthritis, injuries, and trauma. He has a special interest in treating younger adults with arthritis of the hip and knee and helping to manage their symptoms with a treatment plan of non-surgical intervention. He is skilled and experienced in minimally invasive procedures such as Hip Arthroscopy, Direct Anterior Hip Replacement, robotically - assisted surgery, and partial and total Knee Replacement. He has a special interest in outpatient surgery and rapid recovery after hip and knee replacement. Dr. Dobzyniak receives statewide referrals for Hip Arthroscopic Surgery.

Dr. Dobzyniak is an avid educator in surgical procedures, teaching anterior hip replacement to other physicians. He strives to remain knowledgeable of the most up-to-date and up-and coming procedures. He has been on the front lines in major designs to improve partial knee replacement implants. He believes in quality materials and equipment to ensure all patients are afforded to best quality of life post-operatively.

Dr. Dobzyniak grew up in Detroit, Michigan, but later moved to Richmond with his family in 2004. He is married and has three children and enjoys spending time with is his family, fishing, hunting and water sports. In his free time, Dr. Dobzyniak is often found at the river.
