Anthem Medicare & Medicaid Patients in Virginia

Bon Secours becomes in-network again for Anthem Medicare patients and will remain in-network for Anthem Medicaid patients.

We are pleased to report we have reached a new agreement with Anthem (Elevance Health) that helps to ensure our patients have access to high-quality, compassionate care for years to come.

Bon Secours physician practices and hospitals are considered in-network for Anthem patients across the ministry, including those enrolled in:

  • Anthem Managed Medicaid plans in Virginia and
  • Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicare Advantage plans in Virginia

Anthem has agreed to cover any claims that Medicare Advantage patients in Virginia may have incurred during the period of time that Bon Secours was out of network with Anthem (since August 1).

We understand how difficult this negotiation process has been for our patients. No patient wants to have limited access to the physicians and hospitals they know and trust for an indefinite period of time. We extend our thanks for your patience through the uncertain negotiation process and especially for your continued trust in us.

One ministry goal is to establish long-term agreements with all major payers, including Anthem, so we can deliver high-quality health care to patients in communities we serve. This new agreement helps us continue to do so.
