Richmond PULSE

Last month marked the one-year anniversary of Bon Secours’ partnership with the Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC). We are honored to be a co-sponsor of the GRTC’s Pulse Bus Rapid Transit System which operates throughout the Richmond metro area as well as in surrounding communities.

As a health system, we understand the important link between transportation and access to the services we provide. Furthermore, our 2016 Community Health Needs Assessment revealed transportation as a primary healthcare concern.

In response to this information, our Pulse Partnership was created with the goal of increasing transit options for individuals in our community. Better and more reliable transit leads to easier access to healthcare services. It also leads to better access to housing, jobs and educations. All these factors impact the overall health of our community, something that is a priority at Bon Secours.

We are proud to report that in this first year of partnership, there has been a 17 percent increase in ridership compared to previous years. We are thrilled with this news and look forward to the continued, positive impact this partnership will have on Richmond residents.

At Bon Secours, we are committed to advancing the overall well-being of our community. Learn about another partnership that is making an important impact.
