Biography

Dr. Julious P. “Jody” Smith specializes in sports medicine, and elbow, knee, shoulder and arthroscopic surgery. He attended medical school at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Va. He then went onto the Medical College of Virginia for his internship and residency, followed by a fellowship in sports medicine from the Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Jackson, Miss.

Dr. Smith is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has been practicing orthopedic medicine for over 14 years. In that timespan he has received numerous awards including the elite award of Richmond magazine’s “Top Doctors” from 2008-2014. Dr. Smith stays active in the community as the team physician for both Godwin High School and Hampden-Sydney College.
