David Loy, M.D. is a neurointerventional surgeon and co-medical director of Bon Secours Comprehensive Stroke Center. Dr. Loy’s clinical interests include ultra-minimally invasive treatment of cerebral aneurysms, endovascular flow-diversion, brain and spinal arteriovenous malformations (AVM), ischemic stroke, Moyamoya disease, pulsatile tinnitus, cerebral venous disease, and neurovascular imaging. His research interests include microvascular processes in the brain and spinal cord and high field strength neuro MR imaging.
He received his medical degree and PhD from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship at the University of Louisville Hospitals and his residency at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology/Washington University/Barnes-Jewish Hospitals. In addition, Dr. Loy completed endovascular surgical neuroradiology and diagnostic neuroradiology fellowships at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology/Washington University St. Louis. Dr. Loy is board certified in diagnostic radiology and neuroradiology CAQ.
In his spare time, Dr. Loy enjoys guitar, mountain biking, history, auto restoration, and tennis.
