Virginia Premier exchange plans, offered in partnership with Bon Secours and VCU Health
What are the plan details?
Virginia Premier will offer four health insurance plans for 2019, representing three tiers of coverage: one bronze, two silver, and one gold. Plan names, coverage and premium details will be available by fall of 2018. Generally, bronze plans feature lower premiums and less coverage, while gold plans feature higher premiums and greater coverage, with silver plans sitting in between.
Are additional approvals needed?
The exchange plans are still pending approvals from the Virginia Bureau of Insurance and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
What are the enrollment details?
Consumers will be able to sign up during the annual open enrollment period, Nov. 1 through Dec. 15, on the healthcare.gov website.
Who is eligible for these plans?
Central Virginia residents with no insurance, or those who have previously signed up for health care coverage on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) insurance exchange, are likely eligible for these plans.
What is the service area?
The plans will serve residents in Central Virginia, specifically the counties of Amelia, Caroline, Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent and Powhatan and the city of Richmond.
Who is part of the provider network?
Bon Secours and VCU Health providers, hospitals and facilities will constitute the in-network care. The provider network will also include VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, Virginia, (however, South Hill will not be within the enrollment service area for the plans).
