Clinical Pastoral Education Program at St. Mary's Hospital
Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is an adult form of learning open to all faiths and spiritual orientations that engage the action-reflection-action method of learning promoted by ACPE, the Standard for Spiritual Care and Education. The program nurtures personal, professional and spiritual growth by helping students develop a sense of self, interpersonal relations, cultural competency and spiritual care skills. In the classroom and clinical context, CPE students explore and apply theological and philosophical perspectives alongside ethics, behavioral sciences and trauma-informed care theories in caregiving relationships.
